Bursledon Brickworks Semester Two Scheme - The extent of the proposed interventions

Bursledon Brickworks Semester Two Scheme - The extent of the original structures to be retained

The below three dimensional view illustrates the extents of the original structures that remain. This essentially comprises the brick supporting structure including the engine house, drying sheds and kilns as well as two chimneys. The roofs and many of the interior fittings that currently exist were introduced during the 1990's and are generally of a poor quality and thus condition throughout. They are neither faithful to the original condition (restorative) or provide a suitable contrasting alternative (disjunctive) and as such there is a strong argument for replacement with a new layer of additions that allow the buildings to be fully utalised.
